I started homelabbing with a server about a year ago, and since I got BeamNG Drive, I’ve loved playing it and wanted to set up a server for me and some friends to play on. I didn’t wanna pay for one or use a public one, so this week I decided to see if I could run a BeamMP server on my TrueNAS scale machine, and much to my surprise, for it being a custom app install, it was a smooth, fast process. It took me less than an hour to get a personal server I can control with outside access. Super fun, and now I can enjoy my own server this winter!

how much are you paying for the servers? it its cheap it wont waste a lot of money but i would recommend not spending over 25$ on a server
what do you mean by that??
if its a homelab and truenas scale the running costs are non-existent (except for electricity).
of course you’ll have to buy or own the hardware for this.
25$ for what?
well if its a homelab you need parts and they can go up to 200 dollars the whole build
