@daveywaveyHD Hahaha yeah it is a bit interesting. Swapped it after my 3930k was feeling a bit weak as it is the best 8c overclockable chip I could get without swapping the mobo & ram for either Ryzen or the 9900k at the time. She idles at 80w and hits about 160w under a full render load. Would love to get a 16c Ryzen but I don’t have the money to do the full swap and this CPU gets like 85-95% the performance of a 9900k since I am clocking mine a bit lower. I have had it up to 4.8 but I couldn’t get it stable & be nice with temps on it. Overall am happy with it since I got it for sub $300 and could use all my existing hardware.

@TRD_Kyle Dread to think of the power draw from the 22nm xeon haha - awesome to see such an obscure high class processor used in domestic applications, does it get a good banana score? : D

Mine is:
Asus Z10PE-8WS with two E5-2680v3 2.5Ghz (boosts to approx. 3.1Ghz)
128Gb ECC RAM
3 SSD’s 6HDD’s
1x 980 ti
1x 1060 6Gb
32" Samsung QLED 4K screen

I will be the odd one out so far.

Xeon E5-1680v2 @ 4.4GHz (8c, 16t) on water
32GB RAM
Many 3 SSDs & 3 HDDs

Original Hp Envy 700-074 Motherboard got fried so We swapped in an Asus Q87M-E/CSM motherboard. Its sort of an Hp/Asus Hybrid now. Thinking of getting an Hp Prodesk with the i7-6700 and upgrading it from there in the future. The i5 4430 is really struggling in certain maps with more than 4 cars loaded in.

Nice setup and ingenuity. You’re the only one with an LGA 1150 socket here that I’ve seen besides me now, They’re actually sort of rare-ish since they only made them for a year or two before they started LGA 1151, I have a 4670K @ 4.3 GHz, a 4GB ZOTAC GTX 970 and 16 GB of Kingston Hyper X FURY @ 1866 MHz and it’s def starting to show a tiny bit of age but still runs games remarkably well for the hardware age i’d say.

My full specs are somewhere on here if you’re curious or w/e

…And besides you have my “middle-class” rig :joy:

  • Ryzen 5 2600X CPU
  • RX570 8GB (MSI Armor OC edition) GPU
  • 16GB Crucial Ballistix RAM (3000 MHz, and it’s RGB cause… cmon)
  • Windows is installed on a 128GB Crucial SSD
  • MSI B450M Pro-M2 Max mobo

Maybe I’ll upgrade in the future with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 Ti or more, but it runs smoothly the vast majority of today’s games in high 1080p 60fps :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
