BeamPaint Problems (Probleme)

Deutsch

I’m having issues with the BeamPaint mod, which has recently been installed on the official servers.
This mod makes editing cars unenjoyable because whenever I try to edit a car, BeamMP closes, and I’m tabbed out of the game since BeamPaint opens in a separate window. As a result, I have to tab back into the game every time I want to continue working on a vehicle, which is extremely frustrating. I’ve stopped editing cars because of it.
However, I don’t want to switch to BeamNG.drive every time just to edit one or more cars in peace.
If anyone knows how to stop this from tabbing me out of the game, I would be very grateful. Otherwise, I hope the mod gets removed from the official servers again.

i totally agree with you but for a different reason: there should be absolutely no mods on official servers!

as with all mods, the ones you download too can be disabled from the main menu

Only the BeamPaint Mod cannot be deactivated in the Mod Manager in the game because it is not listed there

Hi Crynex, I’ve brought this topic of conversation up to the staff at large, we’ll see if we can get this issue fixed with the developer of BeamPaint. So sorry this is happening to you, especially as someone who chronically edits cars myself.

So I’ve spoken with the BeamPaint Developer and this appears to be the way that imgui works in BeamNG. They told me to have you make sure that you keep the imgui window on top of the Beam window, doing so will make sure that it never pulls focus or tabs you out of the game.

Alright, thanks for the info. But how do I do that? I don’t even know what the imgui window is. If you could kindly explain it to me, I’d really appreciate it.

I believe they are referring to the black CMD looking window, let me make sure though.

if youve been working with debugging, mods or even cheats in other games, youve probably came across Dear ImGui all the time, you just didnt know it. here;s an example:

see this simple characteristic style of the window? this is not a part of the game’s GUI, instead it is a third-party interface on top of the existing GUI that the game has already, because sometimes its just easier to do so! and contrary to popular belief, this doesnt increase latency or introduce lags! for example, BeamMP’s experimental multiplayer chat is using ImGui and it is using much less resources than the default lua UI App! or, if you ever explored the World Editor, some of its features are also utilising ImGui as an interface.

however ImGui renders as a separate window process altogether, not as an interface, but as a task, so if you focus on ImGui you lose focus of beamNG, which the OP has described, and this is the intended behaviour. do as OctopusCarDoor suggested - keep ImGui on top of the beamNG window, never outside

I have found it it works i finally can edit my car without tabbing out of the game
