I am hosting a server on my laptop, running Linux mint. My friend who is on a different network is able to join, however when I try to join from my PC on the same network as my laptop, it just says connection failed. I have tried from the server list and direct connecting, but it just says connection failed. I have reinstalled BeamMP, and it still won’t connect. I am able to join other servers, just not my own. I have also checked that BeamMP is allowed through the firewall
You said that you’ve tried from the server list? Have you made this a publicly available server?
Yes, it is. I can see it, and that’s how my friend joined
Hmm, I would call that a key issue, but your friend can join.
You can join other servers but not direct connect to your own. . .so your server is working and your client is working. That puts this issue a little out of my wheel house, let me consult the rest of the support team.
It is also not working on another pc on my network
The response I got from one of the Project Managers is “They need to join 127.0.0.1”
“They need to join 127.0.0.1” → If the server is hosted on the same PC as the game is running on.
If the server is running on PC one but the game is running on PC two, but both are in the same local network, then you need to direct connect to the local IP adress of PC one
Theres docs btw
It worked thanks. I’m sure that I did that earlier, more than once, and for reason didn’t need to do it the other day, but it’s working now.
