- I remove all, FPS > Visuals
- I selectively remove vehicles
- I don’t lag or remove anyone
- Deleting cars improves performance?
It has come to my attention that a certain server that I very much enjoy playing on is very strict when it comes to crashing into someone. If it detects multiple times that even a possible collision may or may not have occurred, it will proceed to kick you from the server. Now, when there is no player’s vehicle, that collision-detection-approximation-system or whatever gets a little unfair towards those who don’t even have the player in question loaded or removed for better framerates, since it gets pretty crowdy at times and you just have to remove someone for a couple of more frames. So even if nobody crashed and all is well, I get kicked anyway, because it can’t properly detect a collision when there are no cars! What a terrible plugin… Honestly! The same people that crash into me might as well cause me to be kicked! And that right there is very, very exploitable.
Anyway, do you guys remove players for some extra frames? Would you play on a server that doesn’t let you delete player’s vehicles? What do you think of the framerate disadvantage: people are given the same car and you are to drag race, but you accelerate the slowest because you have the worst CPU/GPU performance? The mere idea that someone is faster because they have a better computer? Will you then, knowing that the game’s physics are nondeterministic, opt to remove players just to get faster, sacrificing visuals for grey and orange blobs/spheres, that don’t have movement prediction and are misleading as to whether a player stopped or simply lagged? And then you accidentally brake check someone behind because you thought YOU are about to crash into somebody? Would you rather have collisions disabled globally for everybody on a server or rather a plugin that kicks you for colliding with someone? Finally, would it be fair if both parties, both players get kicked for causing an incident?
