Download speed

Hello,

My friend and I recently downloaded BeamNG and BeamMP to play together. First server we went to downloaded within a couple minutes and we played for hours. The past 3 days of trying to play the downloads are insanely slow. He downloads and loads in just fine but it took over an hour to download a 549MB mod size server. Is there something on my end that could be causing this? I have a 1GB fiber line and my speeds is around 950mbps download 450mbps upload. I need help because this has almost made the game unplayable. I want to experience new servers and fun modded servers. HELP!

If you can load into stock BeamMP provided servers normally I’m afraid that the issue would be coming from the servers you are attempting to join. There is a possibility that they are being hosted from a location that, geographically, is too far away from you. You can always attempt to reset BeamNG and BeamMP but this doesn’t sound like a user folder or version issue.

The only thing I can think of on the client to check would be to make sure that the multiplayer mod is the only active mod, you should not have any single player mods active on your local machine when attempting to play BeamMP. If you do there is a possibility that your locally installed mods are causing a conflict.

I would advise making attempts to connect to servers closer to your area and see if the issue remains.

Thanks for the help. I redownloaded everything after deleting everything and it still downloads slow. I tried 10 different servers today and half of them were fast half of them were incredibly slow. No mods enabled at all other than the BeamMP so that shouldn’t hinder anything. My buddy downloaded all of them at normal speed. We have the same internet and are within a few miles of each other so that shouldn’t be the issue. I’m guessing that it’s something on my end throttling the download speed from the sources.

I keep getting this error and then the download speed tanks. Everytime I sign in it says Lua Fatal Error

LUA errors can be ignored, they don’t impact performance.
