Currently, when connected to a server, you aren’t allowed to enable any mods except those provided by the server itself. This can be annoying if you’re trying to use mods that don’t affect gameplay, for example mods that only add UI apps. I have a couple ideas to fix this: First, just check mods to see if they actually have any changes to gameplay. This would probably be hard to implement, and also could still be used to do some things that could be seen as cheating, depending on the circumstances. A better idea, in my opinion, would be to allow server owners to whitelist certain mods that aren’t included on the server. This could be done by running checksums on mod files, and allowing server owners to put those checksums in a list. This could also be done on official servers for a select few mods, like Beam Advisor or Simple UI Suite. Please let me know if you think this sounds like a good change, or should be altered in some way, or whatever you think.
