What does the number near every person mean?

i see the number things on the right of every name on the player tab and i dont quite know what it means, what is the use of it?

In the ui where it list every player? the number besides it is the players ping

Or you do you mean eachs player tag, that is shown above eachs players car? The number there shows you how far that players car is away from you.
